The power delivery is smooth with 0 to 60 time around 7.2 seconds. The turbo diesel V6 engine spools quickly so there is minimal turbo lag.
The Mercedes Benz 7 speed transmission shifts smoothly and seems to be in the right gear most of the time. With so much torque on tap the transmission rarely downshifts and it feels very satisfying to drive.

The overall interior is laid out well and the switch have a high quality feel.

Radar cruise control
The radar cruise control works well and features full stop and go in traffic which was unusual back in 2014. The lane tracking feature works well and has 2 sensitivity settings. Included in this package was active blind spot assist which also seems to work well.
NAVI, sound system and speakers
The Harmon Kardon system features 14 speakers including the subwoofer. The systems very good with good bass response.
The NAVI works well and is easily controlled with the command wheel. With this system I don't miss the touch screen.
Fuel efficiency and range
Fuel Economy: 20 mpg city / 28 mpg highway / 23 mpg combined The car can often exceed the highway rating by 4 MPG or more.
Ride and handling
This SUV has non-run flat tires and includes a full-size spare under the luggage compartment floor. The ML350 rides softly and handles well, just not sporty.

Noise levels are low at all times.
Seat comfort
Seat comfort is very good with supportive seats with nice durable MBTex. The seat heaters work well as the heated steering wheel.
AC performance
The AC and heat performance are excellent even in 100 degree temperatures. The AC quickly cools the cabin and can remain cold even when the engine is idling.
4Matic performance
The AWD system on this SUV is full mechanical meaning that all 4 tires drive the car at all times. It is a fully open system which means that the most torque the 4 tires will see is the lowest of any one of them without traction control assistance. A positive for the type of system is that all tires are trying to move the car even during a start on ice, where most AWD systems need to spin a tire before all wheels are engaged.
